There is a well shown on the Ordnance Survey 1890 map on the eastern edge of Short Moor. The well probably served Myrtle Cottage (now Shortmoor Cottage) which lay just outside the eastern boundary of the survey area. The feature was not identified during the field survey at which time the area was under bracken and bramble.
