Lane End Farm lies on the site of a house orchard and garden shown on the Tithe Map (plot 1370). This building, together with the present Lane End Cottage to the north-east is shown on the Ordnance Survey 1:10560 map of 1890 (59NW). The site lies just to the south of the survey area.
