Full description
Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 123, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 285 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.
Roughly circular mound 10.3 metres diameter by 0.2 metre high with central depression/hole 2.8 metres wide by 0.5 metre deep. Mound covered in short grass compared to the surrounding long tussocky grass. Mound probably merely represents spoil surrounding the central excavation, and is related to the many extraction pits in this area (see site 297). However, the form is reminiscent of a barrow.
