Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

A rectangular structure, visible on aerial photographs taken in 1989, and indistinctly visible on laser copies of aerial photographs taken in 1965, is interpreted as the underground Royal Observer Corps monitoring post for Kentisbeare. In 1989 two small structures were visible within the boundary of the structure, presumably ventilation shafts. Although the whole field seems to have been cultivated soon after the closure of the monitoring post in 1991, cropmarks testify to the existence of below-ground remains; in 1992 and 1999 a clear rectangular cropmark is visible, and a paler area is still visible on aerial photographs taken in 2010. Its previous recorded location on the HER was ST053070.
