Full description

Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 21, Part 1; 143, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 272 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.

Quarry & trackway on the southwest edge of Beacon Hill was identified during the survey in 2003. A level area 15m x 2.5m x c5m deep was terraced into the hillslope. A broad trackway 15m long x up to 4m wide ran south & had a bank 1m high x 2m wide on the west side. No quarries are shown at this location on the OS (1891) map.
