Full description

Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 22, Part 1; 150, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 256 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.

A mound 5m x 3m x 1m high & two adjacent trenches were identified during the survey on Mutter's Moor in 2003. The trench adjacent to the north side of mound is aligned east-west and measures 4.5m long x 1.5m wide x 0.75m deep. A trench runs south from the eastern end of the mound and measures 2.5m long x 1m wide x 0.5m deep. The features of WWII or later date were constructed for military training.
