Full description

Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 22, Part 1; 153, Part 2: Gazeteer, Site No. 269 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.

The survey on Mutter's Moor in 2003 identified a possibly medieval bank marking the former boundary between Sidmouth & Otterton parishes. The bank was 1m high x 1.5m wide with a ditch 2m wide x 1m deep on the western side. The parish boundary followed the eastern side of the moor on OS (1891) map rather than the western side as shown now (OS 1997 1:25000 Explorer map 30).
