George Park house. Early 19C with a later addition to the rear wing. Rendered, except for the later 19C addition which is stone rubble; slate roof, gabled at left end, hipped at right end; left end stack, Stack at junction between the main range and the rear right wing, end stack to wing. Plan: Single depth main range, facing south west and fronting on to the road; 2 rooms wide wih a central entrance. A rear right wing at right angles is probably a service wing and gives an overall L plan. The wing has been extended by a lean-to on the inner return, probably in the late 19C. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 bay front with its original features intact: steps up to an early 19C panelled front door with a glazed overlight with diamond glazing bars. Pretty early 19C porch with a lead roof supported on slender cast iron columns with wrought iron spandrels forming round-headed arches to the front and each return. Original sash windows 3 over 6 pane to the first floor, 6 over 9 panes to the ground floor. The right return (garden front) has 3 over 6 pane early 19C first floor sashes annd 2 ground floor 19C bay windows with lead roofs over the patterned glazing bars above the transomed windows. Interior: Not inspected but likely to retain original features. A very unspoiled early 19C exterior. Group value with Redwoods and Thistle Cottage on the opposite side of the road.
