Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Row of cottages shown but not named on 1880s-1890s first edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map. Seems to have been five cottages at this time.
Department of Environment, 1974, Salcombe, 18 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV155971.
Nos 1 and 2 Cobbles and cottage adjoining No 2 to the east, Lower Batson. 17th or 18th century, altered, two storey stone cottages (part of No 1 whitened), Cobbles, windows altered to canted leaded casements, entrances with modern canopies. No 2 massive stone chimney with drips and capping. No 1 windows with glazing bars, alterations and resoration. Slate roof of steep pitch. Part probably 18th century with alterations.
Buckley Cottage, Cobbles, Nos 1, 2, Cottage adjoining No 2, Sunnycombe and The Nook form a group.
