Full description

English Heritage, 1974, Salcombe (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV335625.

Old Watch House at Orestone in Salcombe. Probably 18th century, 4 storey, stone, casement window, generally 1 room on each floor with winding stairs. Said to have been former coastguard's house. Beams and portholes reused. The Ferry Inn, Orestone Steps, Ferry Cottage and Old Watch House form a group with Nos 39 to 4l (consecutive) and Little End, Fore Street. Other details: LBS No 397548.
