Full description

Buck, C., 2005, Wheal Russell Mine, Devon: Archaeological Assessment, 20 (Report - Assessment). SDV336659.

A retaining wall (Site 3) was identified during an assessment at Wheal Russell Mine in 2005 on the west side of the railway line. The feature was shown on the 19th century archive maps & supported the raised track bed for the Devon Great Consols Railway (see PRN 3880). The wall is c35 meters long from north to south x up to 6 meters high. There were two 5 meter lengths of collapse in 2005.
