Mill Hills Farm was a tenement composed of 6.5 acres, divided into 8 'enclosures' and recorded as extant by Rev. Hingeston-Randolph (Rector of Ringmore) in 1860 (Gazette 1888, xxxv). This tenement was farmed by the Coker family. A deed of 1754 leased land to a John Coker for 99 years, from Francis Kirkham (Lord of the Manor until 1759). This lease was a renewal of a previous(?) (Gazette 1888, xxxvii). From this it would appear the Coker family worked 'Mill Hills' from possibly the 17th century until at least 1860; last tenement in parish to escape enclosure?
