Full description
Smith, J. R., 2006, Bere Alston to Tavistock Railway: Archaeological Assessment, 23 (Report - Assessment). SDV336796.
Permanent Way hut (Site 26) on the west side of the former Bere Alston to Tavistock section of the railway used by railway track maintenance gangs for storage & shelter. The pre-cast concrete hut was probably introduced by Southern Railway in the 1930s. The hut was overgrown with the door missing in 2006 & the pre-cast chimney was lying on the ground close to the entrance. Other details: Figs 20 & 39.
