'Barton Farm' house shown on 19th century map as a large irregular shaped building which extends further north than shown on modern maps.

The house at Barton Farm comprises two ranges of two storeys at right angles with slate roofs. The southern part of the building is shown on the 1840 Tithe Map & the northern part was probably demolished between 1887 & 1904.The range aligned east to west has a central porch on the south façade & has the character of an estate farmhouse. Long low & narrow wings extend to the east which seem to be shown on the 1887 map. The northern part of the northern range appears to have been a dairy containing slate shelves.
