An L-shaped farm building (Buildings 1 & 7) in the western range at Barton Farm house. The western part of the building was found to be of stone rubble with cob at first floor level & a loft above. The building appears to be shown on the 1840 Tithe Map & the 1809 map. It may originally have been a cattle shed or a shippon although the northern part may have had a different function. The eastern part of the building was modern of rendered concrete blocks & used as a calves house. Other details: Figs 2-4 & Plate 5.
