Full description

Exeter Archaeology, 2006, Archaeological assessment of Barton Farm, Monkleigh, North Devon, 8 (Report - Assessment). SDV337524.

A long narrow farm building (Building13) to the east of Barton Farm house. The building of stone rubble with an additional structure at the north end & roofed with corrugated sheeting. The main range is divided into three rooms with window openings & planked doors & may have been used to house animals or for storage. The boundary wall to the south of this range contains a doorway into the churchyard to the east. The building is shown on the 1840 Tithe Map & the 1887 map. Other details: Figs 2 & 5 & Plate 11.
