The Chantry is an early-mid 19th century house to the south of the churchyard. The name probably references a medieval chantry attached to the parish church which was suppressed by Edward VI in the mid 16th century.

A sketch of 1816 marks 'cottages' immediately to the south of the churchyard with 'garden' to the south abutting the road. No buildings were shown on the 1809 map but a large house had been built on the site by 1840. The house was called 'The Chantry' from the late 19th century.
