Summary

Open plan livestock shed forming central block of range of three adjoining buildings. Now largely open fronted, it was originally of stone and cob construction with a thatched roof. Probably of 18th or early 19th century date, predating the threshing barn on its western side.

Open plan livestock shed, forming central block of range of three adjoining buildings. Largely open fronted with three modern wooden gates and a fringe of vertical slats below the eaves. An early 20th century photograph shows that this south front was originally of stone and cob construction with a thatched roof. The absence of a complete gable at the east end of the threshing barn implies that the west wall of the livestock shed was extant when the former was built and used as a party wall for both buildings. Possibly 18th or earlier 19th century in date. See report for full details.
