Unknown, 1844, Hollacombe (Cartographic). SDV3807.

Two fields named Homer Sanctuary and East Sanctuary.

Visited 1/11/1977. The sanctuary names cannot be accounted for by any local tradition.

Bradbeer, J., 2022, Tithe Apportionment Field Names. (Interpretation). SDV364707.

The field names East Sanctuary (parcel 135) and Homer Sanctuary (parcel 139) are documented in the circa 1840s tithe apportionment. Both form part of the Hollacombe Glebe (owner Rev J D Yule) and were occupied by Thomas Brown. Now, the field name Sanctuary is commonly attached to some of the glebelands in many parishes, although the name is found on other farmland.
