Full description

Wessex Archaeology, 2007, Historic Environment Audit of Devon County Farms. Pilot Project. Results of Cotley Farm, Fluxton, 5,11, pl.8-9 (Report - Assessment). SDV338158.

Large threshing barn, which appears on 1843 Tithe Map, stands on north side of yard. Originally of cob on pebble plinth, the walls have been rebuilt over the years using a mixture of brick and concrete blocks. South side mostly rendered whilst the north elevation is part cement render and part brick. Vertical construction joins in the wall suggests that the east end of the barn has been extended, perhaps in the 19th century. Roofed with corrugate iron sheeting. Other details: No 1151.
