Full description

Wessex Archaeology, 2007, Historic Environment Audit of Devon County Farms. Pilot Project. Results of East Catkill Farm, Rose Ash, South Molton, 4, 9, pl.4,5 (Report - Assessment). SDV338186.

Small two bay linhay with hay loft and wooden mangers. Located in north east corner of field a short distance to west of main farm yard. Stone walls with patch of cob on west wall. Pitched and hipped roof now covered with corrugated tin. Single A frame truss with pegged apex. East front has been repaired with blocks and timber post, partially covered with tin sheeting. Building shown on 1844 Tithe Map so dates to at least the early 19th century. Other details: No 1477.
