Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Site of a 'Sluice' shown on 19th century map with a very short leat running south into the fields to the west of Spratford Stream which forms the boundary between Sampford Peverell & Burlescombe parishes. From this sluice the parish boundary meanders through the field to the south suggesting the line of the stream had been straightened. The fields along the stream were probably water meadows at this time.
