The 1839 Tithe Map shows a building on this site, which is named as 'Fairfield Linhay' on the 1888 Ordnance Survey Map with an extension on the east side. Stone built with gabled ends under corrugated sheet roof. There are many blocked openings with a mixture of stone and red brick dressings suggesting many alterations. Now converted to a milking parlour and surrounded by moden cowsheds and barn. Now part of Fairfield Farm, one of the 93 farm holdings which make up Devon County Farms Estate. The farm currently covers an area of c50.3 hectares of gently rolling land characterised as a mixture of medieval enclosures based on strip fields, post medieval enclosures and broadleaved plantations. A number of field boundaries have now disappeared. Other details: No 1247.
