Building to the rear of Highweek Street in Newton Abbot was surveyed prior to demolition in 2006. The building was first shown as an open-sided feature on a map of 1890. The building was described as an electrical sub-station in 1928 and as a builders yard in 1981. The surviving two storey feature was found to be of rubble construction under a corrugated iron roof. It may originally have been designed to house livestock. Major changes had taken place at the eastern end of the building between 1972 and 1981 which may have involved the removal of a gable. A number of blocked doorways and windows openings were identified.
