Full description

A building is depicted within an oval enclosure (plot 2272 Cottage and Garden).

Site of 'Cann House' shown on 19th century map as three adjoining biuldings in the northwest corner of a rectiliear enclosure to the south of 'Cann Quarry'. A small rectangular buildings is shown outside the southeast corner of the enclosure. A small square building is shown on the east side of an irregular shaped yard to the east & a smaller square building is shown to the north.

A ruined, roofless structure is visible on aerial photographs of 1972, partly obscured by dense tree cover. The visible structure corresponds with a cottage depicted on the Tithe Map for Plympton St Mary (plot 2272) and Cann House shown on the Ordnance Survey 1880s First Edition 25inch map.
The ruined structure remains identifiable on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2007 and 2018.
