Full description
Exeter Archaeology, 2002, Archaeological Assessment of a Proposed Development at Feniton Mill, Feniton, 5,8 (Report - Assessment). SDV338788.
The field to the east of Feniton Mill contains a number of irregular curving earthworks. These have the appearance of palaeochannels rather than irrigation channels. Such channels may preserve organic material capable of providing evidence of past land use. The site also lies within the flood plain of the river Otter and palaeoenvironmental material may also be preserved in, or by, the alluvium that has been deposited across the site.
