Full description

Chest tomb, headstone and railings against the south wall of the churchyard about 21 metres south east of St John the Baptist parish church in Bishopsteignton. Chest tomb, headstone and railings. Mid 19th century. Freestone coffin chest with coped lid with a roll-moulded cross carved in relief. A headstone to the west of the chest has a cross-shaped head and inscription commemorating Ellen Mary Pickering, died 1853. Railings with fleur de lis finials and columnar corner standards with urn finials. Other details: LBS No 85691.
