Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1953, SX77NW13, 11,14, Figures 2, 5 + 7 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV346385.

An isolated Medieval farmstead consisting of two rectangular buildings.

Small building 4.9 metres by 3 metres to the east of the Becka Brook. The south wall has gone, but must have had an entrance. The north wall is apsidal and 0.9 metres thick. Walling is of a mixture of large and small stones and slabs, some vertical, some flat. The hut is built into the hillside.

Rectangular building of crude, dry-stone construction the south end of which may have been open as no wall survives. Internal dimensions are 5 metres by 2.8 metres and up to 0.9 metres high.
