Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Milestone (M.S Cullompton 9 1/2 Exeter 3) marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map.

Jenkinson, T., 2007, Exeter to Cullompton B3181/3185 (via Bradninch) (Report - Survey). SDV339741.

Milestone in Westclyst just before bus stop, on grass verge on north side of road. Inscribed '3 Miles From Exon'. Ordnance Survey benchmark on top. In poor condition. The old route between Exeter and Cullompton was by passed by the present day B3181 in c1816. The surviving milestones between city and town are quite neglected and worn and may pre date this time. They are all characteristic Exeter Turnpike stones.
