Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Milestone ('M.S Exeter 10') marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, at foot of 'Cullompton Hill', opposite 'Parsonage Street'.

Milestone inscribed '10 Miles To Exeter', situated in Bradninch at foot of Cullompton Hill, on path by pillar on north side of road. Worn with chips on top left hand edge. Black base. The old route between Exeter and Cullompton was by passed by the present day B3181 in c1816. The surviving milestones between city and town are quite neglected and worn and may pre date this time. They are all characteristic Exeter Turnpike Stones.
