Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Milestone (M.S. Exeter 11') marked on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, at entrance to 'Russell's Park Lane'.
Jenkinson, T., 2007, Exeter to Cullompton B3181/3185 (via Bradninch) (Report - Survey). SDV339741.
Milestone, inscribed '11 Miles To Exeter', situated 1 mile to north east of Bradninch, 1/2 mile north east of Trinity Cross in hedge at roadside near public bridlepath on north side of road. Worn and at risk of loss in overgrowth. Residues of cement in number. OS benchmark on face. The old route between Exeter and Cullompton was by passed by the present day B3181 in c1816. The surviving milestones between city and town are quite neglected and worn and may pre date this time. They are all characteristic Exeter Turnpike Stones.
