Full description

'Butlass' farmhouse shown on 19th century map as a large squarish building on the east side of the farmstead with an extension to the north. A track is shown to the east running north and east.

Butlas farmhouse is an early to mid 19th century building of two storeys constructed of coursed rubble under a modern slate roof. Orange brick is used for the jambs of doors and windows across the principal three bay southern elevation. The central doorway is flanked by sash windows and an external stair tower is against the north elevation. The house was undergoing renovation in 2005.
