Full description

Passmore, A. J., 2008, Archaeological Recording of the Farm Buildings at Venmore Farm, Woodbury, Devon, 4,6 (Report - Survey). SDV340781.

L-shaped threshing barn (Barn 7) forming west side of small western yard. Brick with slate roof. Two storey in height but designed with tall ground floor open to roof. Architectural style consistent with rest of planned farm. Large central doors in east and west elevations, the latter now blocked. Remains of inserted driveshaft through east wall. Probably drove a threshing machine from a small engine inserted into the eastern part of the building. Built in mid 19th century as part of planned farm. Other details: Plates 7-8.
