Situated near the Lych gate, in front of the Church House. Widecombe, is a massive octagonal cross pedestal of two stages, each with a projecting top edge, and the lower stage with a chamfered plinth. Type B or C.

Remains of a stone village cross at Widecombe. The upper stage contains earth from which grows a yew tree of quite considerable venerability.

The base is over 8 feet in diameter and stands almost 3.5 feet high. The cross was missing in Ormerod's day and an ancient yew tree is growing inside the base.

Base of former village cross about 10 metres south of Church House, now with a yew tree growing out of it. Medieval. Granite ashlar. Stepped octagonal base about a metre high. Projecting, chamfered plinth, the top of each of the two steps projecting slightly and chamfered.
