Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Rectangular building shown on 19th century map to the south of 'West Pitten' farmhouse.
Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 1960, Yealmpton (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV340949.
Cartshed approximately 30 metres south south west of West Pitten farmhouse. Cartshed with loft above. Early 19th century. Stone rubble with granite dressings. Slate roof with gabled ends. Open-fronted five-bays, four with three monolithic granite piers supporting loft above which is now clad in corrugated iron. The fifth bay, at the south east end is also open-fronted but is separated by a solid wall and the loft above has stone rubble front wall. External stairs to loft on north west end. Included for group value. Other details: LBS No 100512.
