A road is shown on an 1824 inclosure map leading 'from Braunton Town' (to Velator). This area lies within the flood plain of the River Caen, and is likely to contain palaeoenvironmental deposits. Other details: Section 8.

Part of this road survived the construction of the railway, and is shown as an access road on the 1904 Ordnance Survey 25 inch map. It now survives as a slight depression. Other details: Section 12.
