Full description
Reed, S. J., 2008, Untitled Source (Personal Comment). SDV341342.
Excavations for the outfall of a drain, built for a new housing development to the east, disturbed the upper horizon of a soil containing charcoal, fired clay and iron smelting slag. This deposit is associated with the Roman iron smelting industry that is known to have existed in this area. Finds from the housing development have been dated to the late 1st or early 2nd century AD. No datable artefacts were exposed during the excavation.
