Full description

Laithwaite, M., 1989, Devon Farmsteads. A Preliminary Survey, 30 (Report - Survey). SDV339847.

Stone-built bank barn on north side of yard at Tibridge Farm. It is an unusual structure in that, although the ground rises steeply behind it to upper floor level, access to the latter was through the east gable wall. There is a narrow gap between the barn and the rock face from which can be seen a two of ventilation slits serving the rear of the shippon on the ground floor. The upper floor has opposing door to the threshing floor (the gap at the rear of the barn having been filled in at some stage and then dug out again). At the west end, divided off by a stone wall, is a former granary. The ground storey of the barn is occupied by cattle shippons, with a roothouse at the east end.
