Department of Environment, 1988, Alwington, 53 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV20166.

Wayside Cottage.
House, made into 2 cottages in 19th century; now house. Eighteenth century; datestone R.P. (Richard Passmore)/1829 on stack to right. Colourwashed render over stone and cob; gabled thatch roof; external end stacks of rendered stone finished in 19th century brick. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range. 20th century porch to right of centre, with 20th century outer door and early/mid 19th century plank inner door; blocked doorway to left. Flat rendered arches over late 19th century two-light casements with glazing bars. Twentieth century outshut with slate roof to rear.
Interior: two open fireplaces, with cloam oven to right. 4-bay A-frame roof with pegged collars. Other details: LBS number 91374.
