Full description

Russell, P., 1950, The New Quay at Dartmouth (1584-1640), 288 (Article in Serial). SDV341025.

On the seaward end of the Butterwalk in Dartmouth was a small stone bridge leading on to the wooden piled wharf which was pushed into the harbour from 1685 to provide the deep water quays known as New Ground. Map object based on this source.
