'Boatlake' marked on Ordnance Survey 1886 map. 1653 lease of Green Cliffe in the manor of Alwington included 'the Lake and Landinge of Boates there called Boate Lake'. No excavated channel through the rocks visible on Ordnance Survey maps. Other details: 2445.
