Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Site of shaft appears to be shown on the 1880s-1890s map as a rough oval shape within woodland.

Shaft marked on abandoned mine plan of circa 1873. It survives as a depression in the ground.

Old Shaft (4). The Old ‘Footway’ Shaft was viewed from the track above and was not closely approached. The area of the shaft was generally overgrown and was enclosed with low wire fencing. From distance, its condition appeared to be stable.
