Summary

A bronze socketed spear or javelin head with remains of the wooden shaft in the socket was picked up on top of the hazard hill. The blade was broken diagonally at the rivet hole. The blades are worn down on either side of the midrib. Late bronze age. It resembles a larger one from ireland. Shaft made of beech (fox).

Spearhead, the blades have been abraded almost down to central rib, part of one peg hole shows in broken socket. Length 96mm, width 19mm (pearce).
