The earthwork remains of several Medieval or early Post Medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs in a field north of Kipscombe Wood and Buscombe Plantation, Challacombe. The boundaries are not depicted on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of 1889, which shows this area as scrub, suggesting they were abandoned quite some time prior to publication. The irregular, piecemeal form of the boundaries indicates they may have been part of a Medieval attempt to enclose common land. Other details: Monument Number 1489087.
