Full description

Walls, S. + Bampton, J., 01/08/2012, Poole Farm, Slapton, Results of a Desk-Based Assessment Additional Historic Building Recording Archaeological Watching Brief, 26 (Report - Excavation). SDV350166.

The granery is a two-storey building of mortared slate rubble with a shallow-pitched hipped slate roof probably constructed contemporaneously with the farmhouse in the early 19th century date.

The two storey granary at Pool located to the north of the farmhouse was built in the early 19th century between two walls of an existing building. This appears to have been the service range of the house probably containing a kitchen and servant's' quarters. A ground floor door step re-uses a 16th century carved granite fireplace lintel.
