Hill Mill Forge, a foundry, powered by the River Harbourne. Two waterwheels are in use here to drive the wooden hammer and the fan which takes the place of bellows. It also drives the whetstones for sharpening and polishing the completed tools, power here being supplemented by an engine. One wheel works the blast fan only, the other being harnessed to the main shaft can be worked as a separate unit or in conjunction with the turbine and engine. The hooks, etc are hammered out roughly under the power hammers by the platers and then finished by hand.
