Vis=6/12/1961 (os) a good example of a large late georgian farmhouse. No external traces of an earlier building. The site of the domesday manor of engleborna, later known as inglebourn abbott. In 1244 it was granted to the abbott of buckfast in whose possession it remained until the dissolution. The author mentions also the separate estate of inglebourn prior, in existence at least as early as 1316 and said to belong to the manor of slapton. Note the proximity of key's englebourn at ngr 77825762 and wyse's englebourn at ngr 78005758.(reichel). An extract from the after death inquest of john de curtenay, in 1274, states that the manor was held as a member of the barony of okehampton.(reichel).
Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV335.
Vis=est -/-/1953 (hoskins). Was a domesday manor and has traces of the former manor house.
