Reichel, O. J., 1928 - 1938, The Hundred of Black Torrington in Early Times (Article in Monograph). SDV2105.

Blagdon. Now a farm, Former residence of Blagdon family. Blagdon was Blakedon in Domesday. It formed a sub-manor of Clauetona, (Clawton). Before the conquest it was held by Auered, or Alured. In the 1241 Testa de Nevil, it was held by John de Rem.
