The searchlight emplacement is visible as a structure.

Building housed a 210 million CP searchlight, now used as a pedestrian shelter. Constructed of reinforced concrete, overall condition good. Possibly threatened by cliff erosion or road widening. Photograph.

The photograph on page one illustrates a one-time searchlight position in Marine Parade, now serving as a public shelter. The roof top radar is a modern facility.

The Second World War searchlight emplacement is visible as a structure on military oblique aerial photographs of 1958. The remains of the coastal emergency battery with which it was associated are also visible to the south-east.
