Quarry to west of large pillow mound in southern part of deer park. The waste from it is spread over a wide area to the north-west and may overlie and incorporate earlier field lynchets. Piecemeal quarrying of exposed outcrops for building stone and for agricultural lime had probably occurred for a considerable time by the 19th century, and the material for the late 16th century warren walls was probably acquired in this way.
